cp1251 problem - 2008/03/09 15:38 Hi,people!
I have a problem with charset cp1251 in filenames of files,which I whant to download (Remository 3.40).Filenames (on FTP) in Russian language.

How I can fix it?
It is verry importaint for me!

Not entirely clear about the problem. Character set issues tend to revolve around having consistency between the settings for the page (important to have both the header and the meta tag specifying the character set) and the database (where it is important to have the transfer character set and the collating sequence having compatible settings).

I have file "Реестр адвокатов Адвокатской палаты Владимирской области 1.07.05г.zip".It is Cyryllic encoding (Win1251).

If I download this file,filename looks like that: (screen)

Re:cp1251 problem - 2008/03/14 16:16 It's difficult to give an answer based on the information given. The problem is to ensure that a consistent character set is used throughout - Remository does not convert from one to another as it has no way to know which one is used in any particular context.

The best thing is really to move everything to UTF-8 although I appreciate that may be difficult to do immediately. If you want any further advice, I'd certainly need to know exactly what CMS you are using. Also, are you really running Remository 3.40? I'd certainly suggest upgrading.
