Extrange problem uploading files from Frontend - 2008/03/05 22:23 Hi,

I have a problem when try to upload a file from frontend. When I upload or edit a file from backend everything works, and when I try to upload multiple files from frontend works fine also.

When I click "Upload file" I can fill every fields without problems, set the icon, browse the file..., but when I submit, the server returns a HTTP 500 Error.

These are the details from the error:
Error: 'document.adminForm.autoshort' is null or not an object Code: 0
URL: http://www.xxxxxxxxx/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=54&func=addfile

**The file is upload successfully, but I get the error and don't show the result of upload

I'm running Joomla 1.5.1 + Remository 3.43 last revision.

Thanks for your help, and sorry for my english, I'm spanish

Re:Extrange problem uploading files from Frontend - 2008/06/24 10:31 still having the same problem and couldnt find a reason why...

after the upload is complete it tries to load the page:
http://wwww.domain.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=35&func=savefile&lang=en

this one always leads to a 500. An older version works perfectly here. The issue occurs under Joomla 1.5 and 1.0.15 for both versions.

Re:Extrange problem uploading files from Frontend - 2008/06/30 17:58 Hmm, that is a silly error, don't know how it got there!

If you look in ../com_remository/v-classes/remositoryAddFileHTML.php you should make a change to the element that is around line 96. It should have name='adminForm' instead of id=.

(Code example went wrong)

Re:Extrange problem uploading files from Frontend - 2008/06/30 19:31 thanks Martin, i've tried your fix but the error is still occuring

The older version that works perfectly here contains even 'id' instead of 'name' but doesnt throw out that error. 'Savemanyfiles' does even work fine with 'id'.

If you need/want an account for direct testing please let me know.

Re:Extrange problem uploading files from Frontend - 2008/06/30 22:53 OK, seems we still haven't got a final solution! I'd be glad to have a look at your site to see your problem, thanks. Martin Brampton aka Counterpoint

Re:Extrange problem uploading files from Frontend - 2008/07/01 14:04 ahhh, found a way how to prevent the 500. If you disable the admin notification email (Send_Sub_Mail: NO) everything works as expected (except the mail of cause). The file is uploaded and the user sees the normal 'done' page.

Hope we get closer to a final solution with this

Re:Extrange problem uploading files from Frontend - 2008/07/02 19:26 It's a big help to know that! I think the mail sending technique may be incompatible with Joomla 1.5. Most things now go through a CMS interface, but mailing missed that. I'll have to look at it. Martin Brampton aka Counterpoint
