I have thought about that, and so far decided against attempting to compute the correct numbers, taking into account access rights. The numbers are stored in the records for the folders, not computed on the fly. Working them out each time would be a big overhead in terms of database access, and I thought would be unacceptable to most people.

Also, anyone who wants to hide the files that are not available to particular users or visitors now has the option to make folders invisible where they are not accessible. That may not wholly resolve the issue, but it should help.

Re:3.20b2 - incorrect folders/files numbers - 2005/07/27 16:15 Making folders invisible only seems to work if you don't have mixed settings on a specific hierachy level. With mixed visibility settings you will get a full listing of all folders and files on higher hierachy levels.

But in the end this is just "cosmetics" and therefore shouldn't be a primary focus for further development. "You can call me Al."
