Glossary - inheriting CSS - 2006/10/13 23:03 Hi,

I am still very new to Joomla, so please forgive me if my question sounds easy

But I just installed Glossary (which I love btw). But when you mouse over the term and the box pops up, the box has inherited the CSS from the content window. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to let the configuration of the mambot to use its own styles.

Any help would be appreciated!! thank you

Re:Glossary - inheriting CSS - 2006/10/14 18:33 It is possible to legally extend the CSS used for a page by writing the CSS you want and putting it into a variable e.g. $css (including script tags around it), then making the call:
Code:

 $mainframe->addCustomHeadTag($css);

where $mainframe is declared global (it is a standard Mambo/Joomla object).

I've not verified that this works with a mambot, but I'd expect that it would, since it certainly works with a component, and mambots are called during component processing.

Re:Glossary - inheriting CSS - 2006/10/15 18:35 Can you give me an example how this would be implemented? I looked at the Mambot file and noticed the defaults params are entered as an array. $parm .. so would it be

$mainframe->addCustomHeadTag($parm);

or am I completely off base.. as I said, still learning.. PHP / CSS included

Re:Glossary - inheriting CSS - 2006/10/15 23:24 Glossarbot doesn't have any CSS of its own. I was assuming that you wanted to write some CSS yourself to override the template. In many cases, the template CSS works fine for Glossarbot - e.g. here! Martin Brampton aka Counterpoint

Re:Glossary - inheriting CSS - 2006/10/16 21:54 I realize its hard coded into the PHP, which makes me bonk my head as to why my template is over riding it.

Perhaps if you look at my website that I am developing.

You can see what I mean, the pop up box is the only thing affected. The rest is as the mambot config says.

Re:Glossary - inheriting CSS - 2006/10/17 13:22 You can vary the colours used by Glossarbot through the parameters - go to admin side, site mambots, Glossarbot. Have you tried changing some of those? I think you've currently got a white on white header. Martin Brampton aka Counterpoint
