ğhalâ: why not? (updated) - 2006/08/23 19:35 Hi! Very nice component. I just upgraded from 1.8 to 2.0 smoothly. I didn't manage to upgrade to 1.9.2 instead (same error as others: cant edit terms). Just a little issue with letters like â ê î ô û č ğ š , not showed in alphabet listing, and all grouped under letter &.
Take a look here

By the way code for those letters is:

&_acirc; &_ecirc; &_icirc; &_ocirc; &_ucirc; &_#269; &_#287; &_scaron;

(remove underscores!)

I've attached an italian translation too!

Re:Upgrade from 1.8 - 2006/08/24 22:39 You need to change your glossary database table to UTF to avoid the problem with accented letters appearing under ampersand. It can be done via phpMyAdmin, although it can be a bit tricky. It is my hope to put in support for the conversion for the final Glossary 2.0 but I've little time at present, and it's not too easy!

Thanks for the translation

Re:Upgrade from 1.8 - 2006/08/26 17:19 You're welcome!
I've just tried to switch table jos_glossary to utf8_general_ci, without success. Amperstand is still there...

Re:Upgrade from 1.8 - 2006/08/30 08:57 Well, I hope you will find that new entries are ok, but the existing ones will not have changed. You need to run an update of your database to modify any terms that begin with &xxxx; into the corresponding special character. How many different characters are involved? Re:Upgrade from 1.8 - 2006/09/06 20:41 No, new entries are not ok, same problem. Letters involved are â ê î ô û č ğ š. I've tried in your glossary too, look under "&" I think it could be a variable handling issue. I'll try to add utf8decode() command in php before sending to database.

Re:Upgrade from 1.8 - 2006/09/07 18:11 Issue almost resolved changing language/italian.php _ISO definition to iso-8859-16. Now just ğ don't work...
