hold file in the database? - 2006/02/26 02:27 Monday, 18 July 2005
... but the critical change with 3.40 will be to hold most of the file repository in the database.

This feature already exits? I wait this great feature!
Beacuse we can do very interested module if you hold file in database, easyly in database query.

I want to write a tutorial for Remository but I wait this "hold files in database" feature.
Great job Martin but hurry up...

Re:hold file in the database? - 2006/02/26 21:32 It's already there in 3.40... I can vouch for betas 2 & 3. Find an earlier thread labeled "Files in database".

Re:Files in database - 2006/02/24 19:00 Oh.... so if you set the absolute path, it won't copy/move the files to the database? That's pretty cool, to put it at the category/folder level...
Sweet!

Re:Files in database - 2006/02/21 17:48 There is nothing in Remository 3.40 that obliges you to place files in the database. It will be the default storage mechanism, but not the only one.

Re:Files in database - 2006/01/26 09:53
... If there are several files stored in the database this will take a long time for reuploading the database backup ...

Admin Roadmap:
.... Remository users are advised NOT to use the 3.20 feature of specifying a file path for a category/folder just as a means of organising the file repository. This will be better handled by having the files in the database....

Martin?
