Letter and Page Number links don't work - 2011/05/29 23:14 Hi

The links within the alphabet when clicked return to the first page of the glossary

The page number and next links when clicked return to the first page of the glossary

The links on the term do what they are supposed to and link to a detailed description

Any ideas?

I thought it was only me as there were no other pots with this problem.

Are you also using Joomla! 1.5.23?

I don't understand why we are the only ones with this problem? Other then this issue, it does exactly what I want.

Yes that is the Joomla version I'm using along with the Joomshack Onyx template.

I may remove any links to the glossary page and just make do with the highlighted text / pop up.

I've sent a support ticket will see what happens there and will pass on anyting I find out. I have some php guys who can have a look at this for me if all else fails so will keep you in the loop

I was about to give up. Although this forum seems to get many reads, no one responds. I look forward to what you find out. The generator knows which pages have entries, but then cuts the end of the correct page url off so it defaults to the main page. I would think a small change to the coding would fix it. My PHP isn't the best.

I'm using the Joomla SEF settings

That's all I've got so wonder if they think it a re-write problem

I'm not a coder I hack away by trial and error mostly

I don’t think it is a rewrite issue. I have SEF URLs on also, but I have Apache mod_rewrite off.

The main glossary page url is /index.php/glossary

If I mouse over any page number or letter, or click on them, I get /index.php/glossary, which is the main glossary page url.

If I search a for a term, say “Title” for example and click on the term Title, I get /index.php/glossary/Glossary-1/T/Title-6

I assume “Glossary-1” is for the 1st glossary, “T” is the T letter terms, and “Title-6” is the term name and the term number.

If I type in …/index.php/glossary/Glossary-1/A/, I get the A letter terms page that I should be getting when clicking on the letter A.

So the correct pages are there. It’s just that the number and letter lists are not pointing to the correct page urls.

I don't know why we seem to be the only ones with problems? Then again, no one answered me to say they have this working on Joomla 1.5.23.

I got the fix from Martin Brampton:

Go to components > com_glossary > seF_ext.php

About line 45 add else $glossid = glossaryGlossaryManager::getInstance()->getDefault()->id;

So it looks like this:

}
elseif (isset($params['letter'])) $letter = $params['letter'];
if (isset($params['glossid'])) $glossid = $params['glossid'];
elseif (isset($params['id'])) {
$glossid = $entry->catid;
}
else $glossid = glossaryGlossaryManager::getInstance()->getDefault()->id;

I'm using Glossary 2.76 and I no have this problem. But I'm using more than one glossary and I have other SEF problem related in this topic:

I don't using any third part sef component.
