Possible to turn off Glossary Link? - 2010/10/31 08:06 Before any abbreviated text that is in the glossary, a "blue circle with an exclamation mark" appears. This can make an article quite difficult to read if there are a lot of items contained in the glossary embedded in the article.

Is it possible to turn this feature off in the control panel so that we only have the Bold underlined text appearing in the article?

Re:Possible to turn off Glossary Link? - 2010/11/02 05:28 you would need to edit function makeLink in ../components/com_glossary/plugin-classes/glossary_plugin_content.php

Re:Possible to turn off Glossary Link? - 2010/11/24 07:49 Sorry but could you please tell me what I change or remove? I am not a computer wiz. I can find the lines of code, but I don't know what to do with them. I'd rather if the little blue button went away but kept the underline &link.

Thanks!

Re:Possible to turn off Glossary Link? - 2010/11/26 06:41 Find the file: glossary_plugin_content.php
Which is located in /components/com_glossary/plugin-classes/

Open the file and at about line 187 look for the following code:
if ($this->pluginParams->get('show_image', 1)) {

Replace it with this code:
if ($this->pluginParams->get('show_image', 0)) {

The only difference in the code is changing the 1 to a 0 at the end.

Tested and works in FF3 & IE7
*Also tested in Chrome 7

Re:Possible to turn off Glossary Link? - 2010/12/07 17:49 No need to change the code - just go to the plugin parameters (the definitions content plugin) through the Joomla admin interface and change the option for having an image with each term. Martin Brampton aka Counterpoint
