turminator Karma: 0	Joomla 1.6 - 2010/10/22 15:17 I have some question with next future from Glossary and compatibility with Joomla 1.6. Now we can test Joomla 1.6 Beta12 and I think that before 31. december we can use a RC or stable version for Joomla 1.6. I'm interested to know if is there any compatible version and if is planned a migration function to do the update version. Many thanks!

The history of Joomla development includes many seemingly arbitrary changes, implemented without advanced warning, right up to the final release. Because of this, I will not be putting a great deal of effort into attempting to implement on beta or RC versions.

However, some work has already been done to make changes that bring all of my software more into line with Joomla 1.6. Martin Brampton aka Counterpoint

Do you find the (recently released) Joomla 1.6.3 still too buggy for production use?

Since there are major changes in joomla 1.6+, do you think it's worth updating the component (Glossary), even in a beta form, at some point? Joomla 1.7 is scheduled for July 2011, I doubt they will make it on time, but still... the major bugs with the platform will have been probably resolved until then.

We too are disappointed with the early j1.6 releases and we are stuck with j1.5 installations so far. But we hope things are resolved in the short term.
