Re:accentued caracters - 2010/09/05 23:19 Remository does not alter file names, but neither does it attempt a character conversion. So if the file system is using a different character set from the web site, the files will look wrong in the file system. Although they will normally still be delivered correctly on download. Re:accentued caracters - 2010/09/06 15:52 I ask this because I had a problem when changing server.
during migration all accented characters have been replaced by "hieroglyphics" in file system so the link was lost between the name in the database and the file system.
to avoid this problem in the future I thought it would be nice to ban accents.
I believe that under certain conditions (OS, file system, hosting, etc.) we can have problems with accents, and unfortunately the French langage is full of accents.

The problem would cease to occur if everything - including operating systems - were standardized on UTF-8. I'd think that is coming, but only slowly.
