Well, wouldn't you know it, the simple things always cause the most trouble. What you've found in the file is near the beginning, and is the result of a diganostic statement that accidentally got left in.
I was looking for differences at the end of the file (because of the problems we had before) then wondering whether the stuff at the beginning was something to do with the headers or some such. Of course, it was just a result of a silly mistake!
The system is now running on database downloads again, and I hope it is finally working correctly. Sorry for all the bother!
