Import terms into Glossary? - 2009/11/01 15:25 Hi all,
Is it possible to import terms into the Glossary as a .csv, XML or in some other format?

Re:Import terms into Glossary? - 2009/11/18 17:49 Yes, you can import directly into MySQL from a variety of formats, including csv. Just look at the details of the xxx_glossary table for the field information, and bear in mind that the catid field must point to the id of an entry in xxx_glossaries. please note this snippet is for text file that is formatted like this:

word (something.) - definition
or
word - definition

...

if you have your text formatted different it will not work and little modifications will be needed....

Re:Import terms into Glossary? - 2011/06/22 22:23 I am having a hard time to get it to upload into the database. I exported the jos_glossary table as an excel file and added the terms and definition and tried importing it back. When I import it back I keep getting an error.

What is the best way to export and import back from excel. I have over 6000 terms I am trying to import.

Or how much will you charge me to import it?

I did try to use the importer php above, but I can't use the "-" as they are in the definition. I tried to change the "-" to a "%" and could not get it to import.
