quickdown not work in custom module - 2009/09/01 12:50 This is about 4years old opertunity, I looked in the forum and found a topic from 2005.

Is it still that way? I want only 1 file download in that custom module.

Possible or do I have to copy paste that from the article?

Re:quickdown not work in custom module - 2009/09/05 16:34 Quickdown is a content plugin. Modules do not, in general, invoke the content plugins, so the processing is not done. Martin Brampton aka Counterpoint

Re:quickdown not work in custom module - 2009/12/09 18:25 Is this the same within Remository as well? I tried using {quickdown:90} within a file's description and it didn't work.

Re:quickdown not work in custom module - 2009/12/17 22:20 Yes, the trouble is there are no proper standards for content plugins. The design is originally based on the assumption that a content plugin receives as a parameter a row from the xxx_content database table.

Invoking content plugins with something that is a bit like a row from the content table will mostly work, but in the absence of any standards, is also capable of failing, completely outside the control of the software that triggers the plugins.

Re:quickdown not work in custom module - 2010/06/01 02:45 What would it take to get the plugin working inside:

1. a custom html module?
2. within remository descriptions?

can this be a custom project?

Re:quickdown not work in custom module - 2010/06/04 10:06 Yes, it could be done as a custom project, to get an early result. Modifying Remository could be done in an hour's work.

The modification is relatively simple, but I can't quote for modules without looking at the actual code. Usually, the change would be quick, but there's no accounting for different development approaches! Or did you mean the standard CMS "custom" module? If so, I'd have to look at the code to know how long it would take.

Re:quickdown not work in custom module - 2010/06/04 15:17 Yes, I meant the CMS's standard "Custom HTML" module.

Thanks,

Re:quickdown not work in custom module - 2010/06/07 17:29 OK, it should be possible to customize that to trigger content plugins.

Difficult to estimate how long it would take - it is not implemented as a standard module unfortunately, and maintaining Joomla is quite painful because the code is so labyrinthine.
