SEF Problem - Modules not showing - 2009/05/07 22:13 With 3.51J, modules don't show up unless they are assigned to all pages. I have several menus and modules just for Remository and they don't show when SEF is enabled.

I dont have this problem with 3.46 on my production server.

Thanks.

Re:SEF Problem - Modules not showing - 2009/05/08 08:47 I have a similar situation when SEF is enabled (J1.5.10, Remos 3.51, Multy-Module 3.51) - http://remository.com/forum/func,view/id,12815/catid,24/

When SEF is disabled (turned off), then everything is ok.

Re:SEF Problem - Modules not showing - 2009/05/13 17:56 Is there something new about this issue ?

On my production site, the menu link doesn't respect the alias, and uses www.mywebsite.com/component/remository instead.

Modules are not showing in this case.

If I use the full right link (eg: www.mywebsite.com/mylink.html), modules are showing but Remository links still use www.mywebsite.com/component/remository.

Will this issue soon be corrected or is there a way to prevent it ?

Re:SEF Problem - Modules not showing - 2009/05/18 16:25 I'm really not clear. Is there a Remository problem here? Whether a module appears or not is under the control of the CMS. Martin Brampton aka Counterpoint

Re:SEF Problem - Modules not showing - 2009/05/18 16:40 I am not a Joomla programmer, but I only have this issue with this module and this version.

I went back to version 3.46 and the problem was gone.

I think the source problem is not the module appearance, but the menu link. I repeat that with remos 3.51 and SEF enabled, the menu is always linking to www.mywebsite.com/component/remository, instead of www.mywebsite.com/my-funny-remository.html.

Then, the modules should be shown at www.mywebsite.com/my-funny-remository.html, but they are not shown at www.mywebsite.com/component/remository.

On the other side, if I type www.mywebsite.com/my-funny-remository.html, I reach Remository with all modules but :
- The menu is still naturally pointing to www.mywebsite.com/component/remository
- All Remository links are to www.mywebsite.com/component/remository/blablabla (and there, no module).

Sorry, I don't know Joomla module and component Architecture, so I think I can't help further more.

Re:SEF Problem - Modules not showing - 2009/05/18 17:59 Well, I wouldn't expect version 3.46 to behave in the same way, since it didn't have any support for Joomla native SEF at all! Although it could be used with SEF Advance and some other SEF software.

You don't say what SEF you are using, there are many different possibilities.

Remository has no part in the creation of menu links, so far as I know! Those links that are created by Remository are created as query strings and submitted to a Joomla function that deals with the SEF operation, either in Joomla or in a third party SEF. Remository merely displays the results.

The only difference with the most recent version is that it does provide the code module required by Joomla for native SEF to work. I don't currently know of any problem with this code.

If you could give a link to the actual site it might be possible to make more progress. Otherwise, I don't know enough about your problem to suggest anything.
