cant save configuration - 2009/01/23 02:49 Hi there,

i'm using joomla 1.5.7 and remository 3.45.3J (didn't updated because of customization)

I transfered the site to the customers host and since then the problem occured...

i thinks it's mod_security2 causing problems because i'm getting the message:

Method Not Implemented error 501
POST to /administrator/index2.php not supported.

after pushing the save button.

the solution is here but i didn't have access to edit http.conf

Didn't have access to PHPmyAdmin also

Is there a possibility to change the remosity configuration in another way?

Changing com_remository_settings.php doesn't work for me.

Re:cant save configuration - 2009/02/03 00:38 Badly configured mod_security is a menace and can cause all kinds of damage, as well as failing to enhance security. People shouldn't use it unless they really know what they are doing!

It isn't ideal, but you can modify the configuration by going into the DB if you can find a way in. It is in xxx_downloads_repository.

Beyond that, you'd have to try some kind of hack to get round the block on index2.php which is the standard way to call anything on the admin side.

Re:cant save configuration - 2009/02/11 14:58 thx admin for your response, I was able to change setting:

"store files in database" to "0" in PHPmyAdmin, because the database size limit was exceeded (nearly 100 MB ) and my customer needed to upload pdf's.

I will also talk to the hosting company to change mod security settings...

Is there a way (sql query?) to move the files out of the database without loosing the File ID ?

I'm using quick down in over 200 content items, and i dont want to reenter the file id for every article...

Re:cant save configuration - 2009/02/13 18:38 If you change a container by entering a valid absolute path in the appropriate field, the files will be moved to that location. The same thing happens if you change the absolute path.

Note that changing the option only affects NEW containers that are created after the change. Old containers must be edited with an absolute path to make a change. Although the change can be propagated to descendants of the container - but if you ask PHP to do too much in a single request it may time out.

I would NOT recommend going anywhere near mod_security unless you have real expertise available in its use. Badly used, it is insecure and creates numerous problems.

Re:cant save configuration - 2009/02/24 16:13 thx again admin for your advice...
I will try that to move my files.
I don't have permissions to change anything with mod security on my clients server so i'm not responsible for any security leaks.

I developed the site on my webspace without any problems.
The bad thing is that i can't convince the customer to change the hosting company (they are hosted by this company for more than 5 years). After talking alot with the support i managed that the site was moved to a PHP 5.x Server.

I think this is a good example for a bad hosting company!

greetz from Germany and thx for your great support!!!

This is really outstanding for a free component!
