Re:Wish of successes! - 2005/10/26 00:30 Well, that is sad news. I always had the impression that open source matters to you, too. "You can call me Al."

Many Mambo Core Developers left the project because they felt that Miro neither honoured nor respected the open source spirit that had allowed Mambo to flourish during the last years. I would have expected you on Joomla!'s side as well.

Why is it sad?
Because at some point in the future, Joomla! will lose its premier file repository as you will surely try to tie in Remository more closely with the Mambo core.

Re:Wish of successes! - 2005/10/26 16:24 I'm aware of a lot of things that have been said, but from all the discussions I have held, the issues are cloudy and virtue does not reside wholly in one place or another. There is unlikely ever to be a generally agreed version of events, and I don't think there is much value to raking over past arguments.

One of my key goals for Mambo is to make it a better environment in which to develop plugins such as Remository. To the extent that we can succeed in that, it will be easier to improve Remository for Mambo.

But I've no intention to cut off Joomla users in the immediate future, and will support both for as long as it is feasible. How the Joomla environment will develop is outside my control!

Re:Wish of successes! - 2005/10/26 21:20 I had to do a little bit of reading to realise how deeply you were and are and will be involved in the development of Mambo.

As long as Remository remains usable under Joomla! I will gladly share what little knowledge I have with others here in this forum. After that I hope that the transition to DOCMan won't be too painful.

Re:Wish of successes! - 2005/10/26 21:36 If it gets to a point where it is difficult for me to support Remository for both Mambo and Joomla, and both are still thriving, I would hope that the project will fork into two separate developments. I wouldn't want to push you into having to use Docman Martin Brampton aka Counterpoint

Actually, I don't think DOCMan's too bad. But I'd rather stick with Remository.
