No one need a Pay for Download feature? - 2008/09/02 16:27
I noticed that Remository lack the feature of Pay for Download feature.
Sometimes we may need to sell some software or e-book with Remository.
Someone had already requested such a feature on the forum, at:

But it seems no one responded.
Don't you think this is a good idea?

I have another idea: Since I can't afford the sponsorship of this new feature by myself, why not share this cost with other users who has the same feature request?
Please Martin tell us how much do you want to add the new feature, then I will try to find some other guys to pay you together.

I don't want to be unhelpful, but I've never found that approach to work. It's too complicated.
Also, I'd mention that people who leave posts here saying that they will contribute X if such and such a feature is added rarely actually make the contribution when the feature becomes available.
The work I do is really funded by a small number of good clients who pay professional rates for custom services. When a client wants payment services in Remository, it will get implemented.
It might get implemented sooner, but that depends on all the demands on my time! Sorry I can't do better than that

I tried the donate button in Remository component this afternoon, but it requires British Pound, I only have US Dollars in my Paypal account.
Do you accept Dollars?
I really want to donate, because I always say Remository is the best Downloading management component for Joomla!.

I very much appreciate your support for Remository. My comments were not directed at you - or any other specific individual. And I don't want anyone to contribute any more to the project than they feel comfortable with. Although all contributions are naturally helpful!
Donations in any of US dollars, GB pounds or euros are very welcome, I have all three in my PayPal account.
PayPal will automatically convert currencies where necessary, although there is a cost to each conversion. The way to avoid that is to pay to orders@black-sheep-research.com directly through your PayPal account, where you can select the currency yourself.
I can use US dollars to cover some of my costs - for example my web hosting is in the US.

I also have interest in module for download for payment. 
I noticed that there is something used on the site http://www.webmaster-tips.net/downloads.html and would like to know if there is a value for this module already customized? If yes, how much is it? Then, how much is it for development?

So far as I can see, that is a manually operated system. I have developed some PayPal IPN software, but it is only implemented in my Aliro CMS right now.
