When will the complete Glossary 2.5 be complete? - 2008/08/13 02:52 Is there any release date for the complete glossary 2.5 to be released? I'm really looking forward to using it on my site.

Also, the "add a new entry" page breaks my template, I don't know if this is a known problem?

The go, submit, and clear buttons are also not centered (I don't know if this is intentional or not).

When I try to submit a new term nothing happens (is this supposed to happen or is this a problem)?

I know this isn't the suggestions section, but this is more of a question anyways. Is the complete glossary 2.5 going to include options to turn off certain profiles in the submit entry page?

Re:When will the complete Glossary 2.5 be complete - 2008/08/19 21:36 A minor release will be posted soon, fixing the HTML problems that gave a problem with your template, and making the page validate as XHTML 1.0 transitional.

The buttons were not particularly intended to be centred, should they be?

Saving date on a user side term submission has also been fixed in the new release.

You can modify the display of the "add a new entry" form quite easily, if you can read HTML. You will find the code in ../v-classes/glossaryEditHTML.php.

Re:When will the complete Glossary 2.5 be complete - 2008/08/20 01:51 Thank you for the help. I would like to be able to center the buttons though.

I do have one more question, what is the function of the letter field in the term submit form? It says letter (optional).

Re:When will the complete Glossary 2.5 be complete - 2008/08/20 15:54 It should be possible to center the buttons by customizing the Glossary CSS.

Glossary works on the basis of each term having an initial letter that defines where it will appear in the alphabet. By default, the initial letter is taken by using the MySQL SUBSTRING function and the MySQL UPPER function. These are believed to work correctly with UTF-8 even in character sets that require multiple bytes.

However, in some languages, such as Chinese, it does not really make sense to think in terms of a native language alphabet, although Chinese users may decide to place their entries into groups by using something like the Latin alphabet. In such a case, Glossary cannot automatically derive the initial letter.
