file link in content - 2008/08/27 16:57 hi folks,
im not sure, if im in the right forum. Sorry, if not.
I want to have a link to a pdf (or any other file), so that the user can download it.
But i cannot find a file-link-button, when i edit the content, to link it to a file, uploaded with remository.

Can anyone help me?
Cheers,
spicer.

Re:file link in content - 2008/09/03 15:03 You need to use the QuickDown plugin for that. Martin Brampton aka Counterpoint

Re:file link in content - 2008/09/03 15:43 Thx for the hint.
I tried quickdown, but i am looking for something else. I want to browse thru my server to click on the file, i want to attach/link, instead of having to know the id of the linked file.
I now use http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/attachments/, but this is not perfect, cause, i cannot choose the files, alread uploaded in remository. I only can choose files from my lokal computer.

Looking and looking.

cheers, spicer.

Re:file link in content - 2008/09/03 17:16 I wrote a "Remoslink" plugin for the JCE editor some time ago, but never released it because it was extremely difficult to get it totally reliable. Also, there was zero support for plugins from the developer of JCE. Martin Brampton aka Counterpoint

Re:file link in content - 2008/09/03 19:34 Is it working? Is it still available?`
I would have interest in it.

Re:file link in content - 2008/09/04 12:03 You could try this - remember it is a JCE plugin, not a CMS plugin. Can't give any guarantee how well it will work!

Re:file link in content - 2008/09/10 13:50 I have JCE editor and I am looking for the exact same thing. We are a small public school and have 4 installs of joomla 1.0.x.

I want to know how well did it work for you?

Re:file link in content - 2008/09/10 14:24 Hi,

im sorry, but ive just downloaded it. had no time since than to test it. im still using the link i mentioned above. This is double work, cause i have the attachment in ONE folder and im doing "add remote" in remository to classify my downloads.

cheers,
spicer.

Hi, I would like to try out remoslink plugin but the link you provided doesn't work anymore. Could you reupload it, please?

Thanks!

Re:file link in content - 2009/01/06 14:00 Too bad -- I'm looking for this function as well; just tried to install the remoslink plugin, and it won't install w/ the latest version of JCE.

Hard to believe there's no support from the JCE developers for plugins -- theirs is the de facto standard for 3rd party joomla editors. This thread would indicate interest on their end.

Can we all cheer on the remository and JCE developers to work together to make this happen?

Re:file link in content - 2009/01/09 17:35 You can, but I never received any reply from emailing the JCE developer several times. Martin Brampton aka Counterpoint
