Suddenly unable to upload via front-end - 2009/10/08 16:54 I have Remository 3.52.6 installed running Joomla 1.5.9

I had Remository working perfectly fine last weekend. I've since made no changes to the site.

Now, I can't upload files via the front-end. (This was working fine previously) It behaves as if I am not logged in at all. There are no upload/edit options.

I double checked my containers to make sure upload roles were set and they are. I even created a new group and put some test users in there and gave that group upload rights... with no luck.

I also tried creating a new container... same issue.

Remository works correctly otherwise... and via the Joomla admin panel I am able to upload files.

Help?

Thanks!
Jeremy

It's been a while, but can you still help out with this issue?

Re:Suddenly unable to upload via front-end - 2009/12/28 21:50 Hello... sorry.

The holidays have been crazy so I haven't been able to respond.

How can I send the credentials to you? Do you have an email address?

This is in reference to my Remository installation no longer allowing uploads via the front end interface.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Re:Suddenly unable to upload via front-end - 2010/04/27 16:32 We just started experiencing the same thing on my school districts website. It started this week, and the only change I made was changing the version of PHP that I am using on the server. I went from mod_php to cgi_php and enabled SuEXEC. Otherwise everything else is the same. In the back end, I can't even see a button to Manage Users anymore under the Remository area?

Re:Suddenly unable to upload via front-end - 2010/04/28 09:12 There's not much I can do until I see a site that has problems. Changing to running PHP as CGI won't make any difference - all of my hosting runs like that. (In fact, all decent hosting runs like that!).

You can email me via "Contact Us" or my email address is in any of the code files or you can raise a support ticket.

Re:Suddenly unable to upload via front-end - 2010/05/18 14:13 As I said, without investigating a site that has the problem, there is little that I can do other than guess. Martin Brampton aka Counterpoint

Re:Suddenly unable to upload via front-end - 2010/06/14 16:51 The instance of this problem that I have been able to investigate shows two things:

1. The cause of the problem is that files are being uploaded that are larger than the limit on uploaded files in the PHP configuration. This can be checked by looking at the PHP configuration from the admin interface.

2. Remository makes assumptions about what will happen when an over large file is uploaded. It seems that they are not always correct. So in some cases, no diagnostics will be shown. This will be fixed in Remository 3.53.2.
