Re:Search module - 2010/06/18 15:19
The search function within Glossary is not intended for searching the definitions. It is intended as a way to navigate the terms of the glossary.
For a small glossary, it is possible to find terms simply by picking the initial letter and then looking through the list. But this becomes impractical for a large glossary. But allowing the internal search to look at definitions would clutter the results and reduce its value for finding terms.
If you think the search of terms is not helpful for your particular glossary, then you can suppress it through the configuration.
The search plugin looks at both terms and definitions, so you should be able to find things through a site search. But bear in mind that the search plugin uses MySQL full text searching, so it is a WORD search and not a text search. There are constraints on which words will be indexed - see the MySQL documentation for details.
