Definitionbot popup position - 2009/08/26 22:22 Hi,
i try to use your great plugin but i meet some difficulties.
I am on Joomla 1.5.14 and the last Glossary and plugin verion avalable on this site.

The popup appears on click (or focus) but not on the position i want to.
I want to have the popup on bottom right of the mouseover (i think x and y offset 10), I put y offset on -250 to have the popup on the bottom and i have tried to chang the xoffset between (-100 and 100) but no succes.
I dont anderstand what happend
Have you any idea?
Thanks a lot

Re:Definitionbot popup position - 2009/08/27 09:49 are you saying that adjusting the x & y offsets doesn't have any effect at all?

Re:Definitionbot popup position - 2009/08/27 10:02 There is effect, but the good one.
I think (maybe i'm wrong) X and Y offset may us to move de popup box, from the mouse position. If i put 10 and 10,my popup will open at 10px right and 10px bottom from my mouse position. Am i right?
My popup appears on nearly 150px right and 250px bottom.

Re:Definitionbot popup position - 2009/08/27 12:14 then all you need to do is pay around with the figures entered as x / y offset until its showing up as desired

Re:Definitionbot popup position - 2009/08/27 12:45 I did that, -250 for y offset, but it is not work with x offset.
If i reduce the x (in negative as y) it is going on the left, good but nor enough, so i continue and it is going on right after. It isn't logique.

Re:Definitionbot popup position - 2009/09/15 17:36 Sorry about this, but my problem turn yet.
I have tried my web site in different screen (size). And i feel the popup is potionning from the border-right of the screen.
On my sceen, i position popup perfectly with negative x&y offset.
With shorter screen, the popup goes to the left.
And with largeur screen, the popup goes to the right.
So it is not visible with all sceen.

Please help me to resolve my problem

Re:Definitionbot popup position - 2010/01/28 17:50 Hi,

I installed Glossary 2.64 yesterday together with the newest definitionbot plugin. It works fine but for the pop up position.

I tried to play around with the offsets. That seems to have no effect at all. The above/below values also do not seem to have effects.

If the term appears more to the right that 1/3 of the width of the main column, the pop up is fully or partially hidden or cut off by the right boundary of the main column in my Artisteer template.

If the term happens to appear further to the left in the main column, then the pop up appears in total, yet much too far away from the term (down and right). But even so, the pop up appears too far away from the term clicked to make any sense.

Furthermore, I would have expected the pop up to automatically align with column boundaries and never be obscured by them. Is that a new requirement ?

Would be happy to find any remedy. The remarks in this forum have not yet taken me any step forward.

Cheers Horst

Re:Definitionbot popup position - 2010/02/08 10:04 I found the remedy myself.
I used negative offsets for x and y. It works most of the time. I have not found a pattern yet to describe when does not work (Pop up is way off desired position).
So consider the problem closed.
