If you want to upload files into the repository using FTP, the straightforward method is to use the admin option to "Handle unlinked files".

The first step is to decide where the file needs to be. If it is to go into the database, then the simplest thing is to FTP the file to the default downloads directory that is specified in the Remository config.

If the file is to be stored in the file system, then you must decide which container you want to place it in. The container must have an absolute path if its files are to be in the file system. You must FTP the new file to the place indicated by that absolute path.

Once one or more files are on the server, using FTP, you can run Remository's admin option to "Handle Unlinked Files". Those that are in locations that are suitable to be accepted into the repository will appear in the list as links. Select a link, and click on it. You will then be in the file editing screen, where you should add the description, title and other information about the file. When you finally save the information, the file will become part of the repository.
