Description:

Glossary Search Mambot - integrates glossary searching with the Mambo site search. Note that mambots are installed through the standard Mambo admin interface, and MUST be published before they take effect.

NOTE - This version will ONLY work if your database has a fulltext index on the Glossary field "tdefinition". You can achieve this EITHER through phpMyAdmin and adding an index, OR by installing Glossary version 1.6.

Enter your search term in the normal Mambo search window, and you will find glossary items are returned. The default search is for any word of the search term. The fields examined are the term itself and the description.

Provided you are using MySQL 4.0 or greater, you can then use the Mambo search options for "all words" or "exact phrase". Unfortunately, these searches cannot be efficiently done with earlier versions of MySQL and so if you have an older version, the search will still be for any word.

CAUTION: The rules for word searching in MySQL mean that you will not get any results if there are fewer than 3 glossary terms in the database. Also, words that appear in more than 50% of entries are barred from some searches as not being useful for searching.
